Zekra Rahman is a seasoned public relations expert and former journalist with over 20 years' industry experience. Throughout her career, she has represented prestigious brands across the arts, entertainment, publishing, and culture sectors, executing a diverse range of consumer and B2B campaigns for clients such as Audible, the Royal Academy of Dance, The AA, Icon Film, Simon & Schuster, Usborne, Bespoke Hotels, and The National Churches Trust, among others.
Zekra also has specialist experience in diversity and inclusion PR, passionately advocating for social impact initiatives. She has led projects that amplify underrepresented voices, drive policy changes, and help brands connect with marginalised audiences while enhancing their DEI strategies.
Her interest in this area was sparked during her time working at Amnesty International's Press Office, where she contributed to its various human rights campaigns. Zekra holds a BA (Hons) in Communications & Sociology from Goldsmiths College, further solidifying her expertise in this field.
Before co-founding Colour PR, Zekra honed her skills at various PR and marketing agencies in London. She also served as an entertainment reporter for Eastern Eye, regularly contributed to lifestyle publications such as Asian Enterprise, Asian Woman, and LIME, and was a radio presenter for Asian Star FM.
Outside of work, Zekra is an accomplished dancer, published cartoonist and boxing enthusiast.
