Glitterball is a cross-cultural coming-of-age stage play written by and starring TV actress Yasmin Wilde and produced by Rifco Theatre’s Company.

Our PR campaign was designed to launch Yasmin’s debut work as a writer into the mainstream, attracting audiences to the nationwide tour. We generated a mix of interviews, listings and thought-provoking media coverage shining a light on Yasmin’s personal story as a mixed heritage woman in her 50s that inspired the play. Amplifying the themes of motherhood, cultural identity, ageism and intergenerational issues, our multi-faceted campaign spoke to the diverse groups who resonated with the play’s wider messages.

As well as achieving widespread listings and previews, our campaign resulted in national media headlines in i Newspaper that called for better representation of women over 50 on screen and stage, a powerful first person article in Metro on the challenges of being a mixed heritage actress and a rave review in Eastern Eye which heralded it as ‘one of the best productions of the year’,

The play was a hit with diverse audiences far and wide, and went on to be shortlisted for three Offies Awards including most promising new playwright, production and set design.
