Releasing a music and audiobook collaboration

A Theatre for Dreamers audiobook by Polly Samson & David Gilmour

The audiobook version of Polly Samson’s Sunday Times bestseller A Theatre for Dreamers was not your average release. Premiering the first new music from Pink Floyd’s frontman David Gilmour in five years, it was a world-first for audiobooks.

Our campaign highlighted this ground-breaking and unique collaboration between an author and an artist, bridging two world’s that had previously remained completely separate.

We secured international print, online and broadcast coverage across the arts, music and book trade media, raising the profile of audiobook publisher W.F. Howes, positioning them at the forefront of audiobook innovation, while helping them tap into an entirely new market of music fans.

In an exclusive interview, the audiobook was lauded by The Times, who ran a full page spread, for its innovation and ‘novel approach to new music’. It was widely reported in the music scene and book trade, with articles in top publications including Rolling Stone, NME, Uncut, Louder, ABC Radio Australia, Far Out, Ultimate Classic Rock, Guitar and book industry coverage in The Bookseller.
