Audible, a leading provider of spoken word entertainment, has acquired the Global English Language rights for a new audio-first novel from bestselling British author Lisa Jewell.
The Audible Original thriller, which is slated for release in October 2026 and yet to be named, will mark the first time the author has written exclusively for Audible.
With a career spanning 26 years, more than 10 million books sold, and publishing worldwide in over 30 languages, New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller Lisa Jewell is one of the British book industry’s greatest success stories and global exports. Her recent novel None of This is True was voted Best Crime and Thriller Book of the Year and Best Fiction Audiobook of the Year at the British Book Awards 2024 and picked up the Book of the Year award at the 2024 TikTok Book Awards.
Lisa Jewell said: "I am an Audible addict; nearly everything I read these days I read on audio, and my Audible library is a thing of beauty. So I could not be more excited or honoured to have been invited to write something unique and audio-specific for Audible. It's going to be a brilliant collaboration."
The Global English Language rights for the new audio original were acquired from Jonny Geller, CEO of Curtis Brown, by Robin Morgan-Bentley, Director of Scripted Drama and Original Books at Audible. Geller stated: "It's such an enticing prospect for Lisa Jewell readers - an original story created specifically for an audio audience - and we are excited to partner with Audible."
Aurelie De Troyer, Head of Regional Content, Europe, Audible, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Lisa on her first Audible Original. We, alongside millions of Audible listeners worldwide, know how much her unique storytelling lends itself to the audio medium, and we’re delighted to be publishing her new thriller. At Audible, we continue to champion a diverse range of writers, from debuts to the most established and bestselling names, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in audio storytelling.”
